ABOUT
Ingrid Johnson is an interdisciplinary designer with a current focus in illustration and textile design.
With a background in art history and textile design, Ingrid has experience on both the curatorial and conservation sides of the Costume and Textile department at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she developed a deep interest in historical textiles and craft traditions.
Working in the apparel industry for major fashion brands, Ingrid created concepts and textiles for women’s clothing and continued her love of research, while developing a strong visual literacy that informs all her work.
A lifelong maker, Ingrid loves painting, creating jewelry and other wearable art, experimenting with natural dyes, and sharing her knowledge by leading workshops.
